Google Presents...
I absolutely love taking students to places we normally couldn't go to using virtual reality in schools. Google Expeditions has proven to be an amazing tool for total student engagement. However, sometimes I get feedback from students wishing that they could move within the scene, watch a video clip, or see pictures and hear sounds. Some of the expeditions are starting to add these elements in pop ups, but you cannot simply stroll through a museum in Google Expeditions, yet. I believe this is where the Google Expeditions team is headed though, and a few experiments out there really have proven how VR can come together along with street view manipulation and multimedia elements as well.
Google Presents offers a first person journey through the Abbey Road Studios and the streets of Marseille, France. Accompanied by a narrator, a manipulative map, and your ability to walk and look at anything you wish, Google Presents shows just how close to reality virtual reality can get. Try these out with your students.
You can also check out more virtual field trip experiences with your students around the globe with this Virtual Field Trips Guide resource that I have created.

Inside Abbey Road is a site built by Google in partnership with Abbey Road Studios. The aim is to enable anyone in the world to follow in the footsteps of musical legends, and step inside the famous British recording studio as it’s never been seen before. Once inside, you can explore every nook and cranny of the three recording studios, and discover stories, images, videos and music spanning the decades. You can also be guided around by producer Giles Martin, Head of Audio Products Mirek Stiles, or broadcaster Lauren Laverne, and even play with interactive versions of pioneering Abbey Road Studios equipment.
