Countdown to Winter Break with Google Tools for Education
December is always a crazy month in educaton. Therefore, this holiday season I have decided to blend the spirit of gift giving with that of offering professional development opportunities. This December I have created a count down to the winter break interactive digital calendar. For each day in the month of December leading up to our school winter break (starting on December 24th), a new tool, extension or website that integrates with Google Apps for Education will be revealed and explained. This way you can "receive a gift", a new tool to try out in your learning space all while partaking in the spirit of the holiday season.

This does not mean that ELA teachers should stop teaching literature.
Early in my career as a classroom teacher, I remember building a reading tree house and an outdoor classroom with large rocks as seats. Now in this digital age, I believe that the whole world can be our platform. We should seek to leverage the power of multiple platforms, across the physical and virtual spheres to reach and engage all learners.

You work to solve it given the combined intelligence of your team and what you’ve got.”

3D printers are hot. They’re so hot that even schools are buying them. Although, schools are thought to be late adopters of emerging technology, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how many schools already own 3D printers.
